What We Look For
I look for businesses I want to personally run over the next 10 - 15 years. If I can't see myself operating it, it's probably not the right fit for either of us.
These criteria help determine mutual fit—yours and mine.
Business characteristics
Revenue: $1M–$5M annually
Profitability: Consistently profitable with stable cash flow
History: Established track record (typically 10+ years)
Industry: B2B services, light manufacturing, distribution, or essential services
Geography: US-based, ideally Texas or surrounding states
Ownership situation
Owner-operated businesses where the founder is ready to transition. This might mean retirement, pursuing other interests, or simply wanting to step back after decades of carrying the weight.
I understand that decision. I've made it myself.
What I typically avoid
Turnarounds or distressed situations
Businesses dependent on a single customer or contract
Heavy technology or software (not my expertise)
Businesses requiring significant capital investment upfront
Franchise operations
